The Campaign for a Sexual Assault Referral Centre in Cardiff

In our area few rape victims see their case get to court, even fewer see a successful prosecution. All too often, cases fail to get to court or the jury fails to reach a unanimous verdict because there is not enough evidence.

The Government could do much more to help gather better evidence that would see guilty men prosecuted. One way would be for there to be an increased number of Sexual Assault Referral Centres in the UK

Sexual Assault Referral Centres are safe places where victims of rape can go to give forensic evidence and recieve support. They are designed to look less intimitdating than a police station, and all staff are specially trained in supporting rape victims.

Cardiff does not yet have a Sexual Assault Referral Centre - and we think it should
